Welcome to The Copper Trout! We are a family run and owned restaurant on the edge of Lake Superior in the beautiful town of Bayfield Wisconsin. Some of you may remember us as "Ethel's at 250," but following a change in ownership we have changed quite a few things. The Copper Trout is still dedicated to providing the best service, fresh Lake Superior inspired dishes, and friendly atmosphere that our guests have come to expect in Bayfield.

And a bit about our food!
The Copper Trout's menu is heavily inspired by Lake Superior's South shore. Every morning we pick up Lake Trout and Lake Whitefish from local fisherman to serve as fresh as possible. We serve desserts and salads that showcase the beautiful Bayfield berries as they cycle in and out of season over the course of the summer. Our desserts and ice cream are made by talented local bakers, dairy farmers and pastry chefs from Washburn and Bayfield. This year we are serving a number of beers on tap from Midwest breweries including New Glarus Brewing, South Shore Brewery, Lake Superior Brewing Co, Bent Paddle Brewing, and Summit Brewery.
Our Menu is inspired by Lake Superior and Northern Wisconsin. We have combined our love of fresh local ingredients like lake fish, juicy berries, and wild mushrooms with a love of Italian and American home cooking. We Serve hand-tossed pizza with creative and classic flavor combinations, and only top quality ingredients. Pasta is another one of our specialties, try our spaghetti with homemade beef, pork, and veal meatballs. Or enjoy an appetizer with a glass of wine like our hand-battered calamari or one of our signature flatbreads. If classic American is more your speed we have house cut New York Strip, fresh grilled burgers, and grilled trout and whitefish dishes available daily.
